Case Study: Lulita Swim
Campaign Photography · Creative Direction
The Concept
A self-directed editorial created to demonstrate what elevated swim campaign photography looks like when the directive is feeling, not product. Shot at the tide pools of Shell Beach on the Central Coast of California.
The Approach
A girl and her bikini. Where will it lead her?
To the tide pools. To the rocks. Back home to the earth and the water.
We treated this as a narrative, not a lookbook. The story moves from stillness to surrender — a strong profile against the open Pacific, then down to the rocks, then fully given over to the water. Mermaid-like. Dramatic. Emotional.
The jewelry was never the focus. It was always just there, the way real jewelry is. Something you forget you're wearing until the light catches it.
The color treatment was intentional throughout:
Deep near-black water, warm preserved skin tones, natural Central Coast light with no fill. Moody without being dark for darkness's sake.
The Outcome
This editorial exists as a proof of concept and a statement. That swim campaigns don't have to be sun-drenched and obvious. That a bikini can anchor something cinematic. The Central Coast has a visual identity worth building around. Available as a reference for swim, jewelry, and lifestyle brands looking to move into editorial territory.
